The Brief
The homeowner in Rayleigh wanted to replace tired, uneven garden paving with clean, contemporary porcelain slabs that offer a modern aesthetic and an easy-to-clean surface.
A central requirement was installing a bespoke water feature as an eye-catching focal point in the garden. The client also requested raised planter beds for tropical greenery and timber fencing panels to improve boundary privacy and add warmth to the space.
Our team designed a clean outdoor layout balancing durable hard paving surfaces with decorative water and planting elements to create a low-maintenance, practical terrace built for relaxation and entertaining.

What We Installed
We began by excavating the existing garden plot, removing old paving and preparing solid concrete foundations for the new layout, raised beds and water feature structure.
Our team built the water feature and surrounding raised planter walls from sturdy blockwork. The water feature structure was finished in decorative cladding tiles, topped with smooth porcelain coping stones, and fitted with a pebble-lined catch channel to handle water runoff cleanly.
A large cream porcelain patio was laid on a full mortar bed, providing a level, slip-resistant terrace for outdoor furniture. Cedar timber fencing panels were installed in the corner to provide natural timber contrast and privacy.

Maintenance Suggestions
To keep cream porcelain paving, stone water feature elements and cedar timber looking pristine, we recommend following these care tips:
Cleaning Porcelain Paving
Porcelain paving is non-porous and highly stain-resistant. Sweep regularly to remove loose dirt and leaves, and wash with warm water and a mild pH-neutral detergent. Avoid harsh acidic cleaners or wire brushes that could affect grout lines.
Water Feature & Pump Care
Keep the water reservoir topped up during warm summer months to ensure the pump remains submerged. Periodically clear leaves and debris from the pebble channel to maintain clean water flow and prevent algae buildup.
Rendered Wall & Cedar Fence Care
Wipe rendered wall surfaces with a soft damp cloth to clear splash marks after heavy rainfall. Apply a protective UV timber oil to cedar fence panels once a year to maintain the rich natural wood tone.
