    FENCE FITTERS IN WICKFORD

Fencing Fitted to a Proper Standard

Garden fence fitters are the team on the ground who prepare the site, set the posts, fit the boards or panels, and leave the garden tidy. The quality of the fitting determines how well the fence stands, how it looks and how long it lasts.

Our fencing team works on residential gardens across Wickford and South Essex. We prepare each job properly — clearing the boundary, removing old fencing where agreed, setting posts at the right depth in concrete, and fitting gravel boards before any boards or panels go on.

On a free site visit we assess the garden, talk through the options and provide a clear written quotation. The fitting is then carried out by experienced fitters who know how to deal with changes in level, awkward access and existing boundaries.

    WHAT FITTERS DO

What Do Garden Fence Fitters Do?

Garden fence fitters handle the physical installation of the fence. That includes setting out the boundary line, digging post holes, setting posts in concrete at the correct depth and spacing, fitting gravel boards, and fixing boards or panels to the rails or posts.

The fitters are also responsible for checking levels and alignment as the fence goes up, cutting boards to fit changes in ground level, and ensuring the fence is secure. Where a gate is included, the fitters install the gate posts, hinges and latch as part of the same run.

Good fitting is about preparation as much as installation. Posts set too shallow or without concrete will lean. Boards fitted without checking levels will look uneven. Our fitters take the time to prepare properly so the fence stands well.

When a new fence needs to stand properly for years, not just look right on the day
When the garden has changes in level that need careful board cutting and alignment

When the boundary has awkward access or tight working space
When you want the fence fitted as part of a coordinated garden project
When a gate needs to be integrated and aligned within the fence line

    THE PROCESS

    Our Fence Fitting Process

Fitting timing depends on boundary length, access, ground conditions, existing fencing, the chosen material and post system, and the weather. We confirm a realistic schedule before booking.

    1. 1Discuss the boundary, access and what you want the fencing to achieve
    2. 2Inspect the garden, ground conditions and any changes in level
    3. 3Confirm the fencing specification and provide a written quotation
    4. 4Remove existing fencing where included in the quotation
    5. 5Remove and dispose of old fencing materials from the site
    6. 6Set out the boundary line along the garden
    7. 7Dig post holes and install posts securely at the correct depth in concrete
    8. 8Install gravel boards at the base of the fence
    9. 9Fit rails, then fix feather-edge boards or panels to the posts
    10. 10Install gates and ironmongery where included
    11. 11Check alignment, levels and finish across the full run
    12. 12Leave the working area tidy and clear of waste

    QUOTATION FACTORS

What Affects the Cost of Fence Fitting?

We do not provide fixed prices without seeing the boundary. The written quotation is based on the work involved, and several factors influence the final figure.

Length and height of the boundary to be fenced
Fencing type — closeboard, panels or composite
    Timber or concrete posts
    Timber or concrete gravel boards
Ground conditions and changes in level along the run
Access to the boundary for materials and equipment
Removal of existing fencing and waste disposal
Gates integrated into the fence line

The written quotation will explain the agreed work, materials and preparation so you know exactly what is included before the fitting begins.
